Back in May 2020, We started our little steps towards digital literacy program. @Santhosh Thottingal, Sebin Abraham, Jaisen Nedumpala, Mujeeb Rahman and others were involved in the discussion.
And then Corona happened, which resulted in halting the program.
We are planning to restart the discussion with the wider audience. As an initial step, We are planning to conduct our first discussion on 2021-02-12T18:30:00Z.

Santhosh Thottingal, Sebin A Jacob and Mujeeb Rahman were part of an early discussion in 2019 with Saksharatha Mission. Santhosh introduced the topic and explained past considerations and its changing role In the post-pandemic phase, He detailed relevance of the digital literacy in Kerala society. Sebin suggested curriculum developed is inadequate and pointed out the need for polishing and adding more modules. Anivar pointed out the need for SMC to grow from Malayalam developer community to a community addressing Malayalam language computing community. Mujeeb Rahmanโs emphasis was on increasing Privacy and banking frauds. He suggested building modules on the same. Sreejith Koiloth explained how KITE tried to solve this problem with school children. Najiya KV explained how MES college collaborated with Kudumbashree for Digital Literacy. Yaseen discussed how this can be integrated with Panchayats and Libraries. Also suggested building an interactive website/mobile app for the same. Santhosh explained why offline methods are preferred. Anivar pointed a ToT approach will be good.
As his research was on Digital literacy, Afsal said he can contribute his academic know-hows for this project.
Presentees promised their support for proceeding with the project. Sreejith Koiloth promised KITEโs collaboration. Najiya promised involvement from NSS and Computer Engineering Dept. of MES college.
The discussion agreed on commencing the program ASAP. Anivar suggested 21st of February โ International Mother Language Day. Presentees unanimously agreed. Presentees agreed to invite eminent literary/cultural personal.

Formally inaugurate Digital Literacy Project on 21st of February โ International Mother Language Day.
Create topic wise discussion on existing modules.
Find subject matter experts for each subtopic. Also, find topic editors and coordinating editors.
